Tanjung Sepat, March 28, 2025 – The Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade recently received a significant boost to its life-saving capabilities thanks to a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Japanese company Temacon Engineering Sdn. Bhd.
A 10-person team from Temacon Engineering, led by President, visited the Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Station to conduct a CSR activity. As part of their commitment, the company generously donated a portable Automated External Defibrillator (AED), valued at nearly RM10,000. This marks a significant milestone, as it’s believed to be the first voluntary fire brigade in Malaysia to be equipped with an AED, bringing new and vital knowledge to the team.
The event saw a collaborative effort, with attendees including:
- Temacon Engineering Representatives: President, Company Director, General Manager, Manager, Manager & Team Leader, Estimator, QA/QC Executive, Site Safety Supervisor, and Electrical Engineer.
- Medical Professional: An emergency medical technician, provided on-site guidance and crucial emergency training.
- Tanjung Sepat Primary School Representatives: Principal, Vice Principal and Teacher
- Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade Members: 15 members of the brigade participated in the training.
The event, which ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, was a resounding success.
Empowering the Voluntary Fire Brigade with Life-Saving Skills
A manager and team leader from Temacon Engineering, expressed that their Japanese head office places great emphasis on corporate social responsibility. He shared that months of coordination with Mr. Lim Chin Lee, Chairman of the Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade, made this meaningful collaboration possible. He also extended a warm welcome to all attendees, including the school representatives and voluntary firefighters.
President emphasized that the primary goal of corporate social responsibility is to support and maintain safety and social order. “By donating this AED, we hope everyone can gain exposure to training on this instrument,” he stated. “We also hope that the members of the Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade can absorb the relevant knowledge and be able to save lives when needed.” He added that despite the short training period, he hoped everyone would benefit from the cooperative effort.
Chairman of the Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade, extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Temacon Engineering Sdn. Bhd. team for initiating this activity. He acknowledged that the event significantly enriched the brigade’s knowledge in emergency rescue and expressed immense appreciation for the company’s generous donation, calling it “great news for Tanjung Sepat.”
During the event, the emergency medical technician, provided comprehensive training on the proper use of the AED in conjunction with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to help normalize abnormal heart rhythms.
This initiative by Temacon Engineering Sdn. Bhd. demonstrates a strong commitment to community welfare and significantly enhances the life-saving capabilities of the Tanjung Sepat Voluntary Fire Brigade.
